Code of Conduct started as the original project that birthed Point Radar, as it functioned as the original solo project by Matt Balogh for more-hardcore focused releases.

Background and Recording

Petty Theft was a combination project of solo efforts by Matt Balogh. Tracks 5, 11, and 12 were partially rerecorded from a 2013 project called Code of Conduct, others were written and demoed between 2015-2019. With lots of time to sit with the tracks due to the 2020 pandemic, many guitar parts were rerecorded, vocals were redone, lyrics were rewritten, and the project began to sound cohesive. There are many influences on this record, as Balogh was unsure of the direction of the project. Rooted with punk rock energy, the songs explore styles ranging from post hardcore to grunge tinged with some post punk elements.
